Everything for the day of your event: validating tickets, checking people in, and selling at the door. Tools live under Box Office in your event admin and in the free Multipass mobile app (Google Play / Apple App Store).
Ways to check people in
- Multipass app — scan QR codes. Scans any ticket QR: printed, emailed PDF, web receipt, mobile site, in-app ticket, or a linked Multipass card. Green check = success; red X = failure with the reason.
- Multipass app — tap NFC cards. Customers tap their physical Multipass card to your device. The app checks for unused tickets on the linked account and reports how many remain. Test your device's NFC sweet spot ahead of time — different phones read from different areas.
- Multipass app — manual lookup. The Manual tab lets you filter by first name, last name, email, or ticket note, expand a customer, and touch a ticket to mark it used. You can add per-ticket notes (remember to Save Note).
- Web check-in. From Box Office → Web Check In (or the event page's Check People In button on event day, with sufficient permissions): filter by name or email, expand the row, and click Mark Used per ticket.
- Printed guest list. Under Orders / People With Tickets, export reports (individual tickets or distinct names), print or load into a spreadsheet, and cross names off. The reliable backup when internet is questionable.
Fraud-prevention note: there is currently no way to unmark a used ticket. Mark responsibly!
Letting your team scan
Two options:
- Add a manager. Have them create a free Multipass account, then add them under Team with Can Scan Tickets (you can withhold Full Control). See Your Event Team & Permissions.
- One-off device access — no login needed. Box Office provides a special QR code (with a print version): on the app's login page, your helper taps Scan Tickets and scans your QR to unlock scanning for your event on that device. Perfect for volunteers you'd rather not provision accounts for.
Door sales
Sell tickets at the door through the app and keep all reporting (and money) in one place. Ticket types must have Allow Door Sales enabled.
- Accept cash, check, Venmo, external card readers (like Square) — or run cards directly in-app with a Stripe card reader.
- Door sales through the app carry a flat $2.00 per ticket fee, including credit card processing.
- Optionally collect buyer emails at the door (Settings → Request Email Address on Door Sales) so door customers get receipts and join your audience.
- In the Denver area? Multipass has loaner Stripe readers — ask us.
Waivers at the door
If your event requires signed terms, you can require waiver acceptance at ticket scan — each ticket gets an electronic signature captured on the spot, in addition to (or instead of) checkout acceptance. Retrieve, download, or print full waiver text + signatures later under Reports → Waivers. Check your local laws to confirm e-signatures meet your requirements.
Scan validation mode
If you want scanners to see ticket details and explicitly confirm each entry, enable Validate Tickets On Scan, "Okay" to mark Scanned in Settings. Most events keep this off for speed.
