Welcome to Multipass! This guide takes you from a blank account to a published event that's ready to sell tickets. It takes about 15 minutes.
Before you start
Every event on Multipass is hosted under an organization, your "doing business as" name. It can be a venue, a collective, a company, or just "Jane Smith Presents." If you don't have one yet, choose Create Organization from your account menu. Learn more in Set Up Your Organization.
Step 1: Start your event
- Log in at multipass.com and open your Organizer dashboard (use the Organizer / Promoter switch at the top of the page).
- Click Create event (top right of the dashboard, or Events → New event).
- Choose what you're hosting: Ticketed Event (sell paid tickets, no cost to you) or Free RSVP (collect free registrations).
- Fill in the basics:
- Event Name
- Start Date and Time (End Date and Time is optional). Times use your organization's timezone.
- Location: In person (location name and city) or Online
- Under Tickets, optionally set a Total Ticket Count For This Event (your overall capacity), then create your first ticket type: Ticket Name, Price, and an optional available count.
- Click to create the event.
That's it, your event exists! You'll land on the event's Dashboard, the control center for everything below.
Step 2: Share privately, then go public
New events start as Unlisted: live and accessible by direct link only. That's perfect for previewing the buyer experience, sharing with your team, or a soft launch.
- Click Share to copy the short URL, the main URL, or download a QR code.
- When you're ready for the world, open the visibility menu (it says Unlisted) and choose Public. Your event will appear on your organizer page and in Multipass listings.
Step 3: Connect Stripe so you can get paid
You can't sell paid tickets until a payout account is connected. Go to Finance → Payment Setup in your event, or My Account → Payout Accounts → Connect to Stripe. Stripe's setup happens on its own page. Use their navigation and don't hit your browser's back button, or you'll have to start over.
Tip: make a small test purchase as soon as Stripe is connected. It confirms everything works and gets your first payout moving. (Stripe sometimes holds a brand-new account's first payout for a few extra days.) A temporary $1 ticket works great. For the full picture, see Stripe, Payouts, Fees & Sales Tax.
Step 4: Round out your event page
Work through the To do list on your event dashboard, or use the sidebar:
- Event Details → Images: add your artwork
- Event Details → Event URL: a friendly address like yourorg.multipass.com/yourevent
- Tickets: add tiers, early bird, VIP, and more (see Ticket Types & Pricing)
- Event Details: description, location, doors-open time, and links (see Customizing Your Event Page)
Step 5: Do a dry run
- Open your event's link in a private/incognito window to see exactly what buyers see.
- Make a small test purchase.
- Scan your own test ticket with the Multipass app (see Check-In, Scanning & Door Sales).
