There are a few ways to check people in and mark tickets as used.
- Check customers in via the Multipass website
- Check customers in via the Multipass mobile app (with a QR code or NFC card)
- Enable users other than the event admin to scan tickets in the app
- Enable one-off access to a device for scanning tickets in the Multipass App
- Check customers manually via a printed guest list
Check customers in via the Multipass website
- Using the event's admin account, or another event manager that's granted access, visit the event page. If you have sufficient permissions, and it is the day-of the event, click the button labeled Check People In.
- You will see an alphabetical list of names (last, then first) as well as the associated email address for the account.
- The top of the list has a filter box. Enter the first name, last name, or email of the person you are checking in. You can search partial values as well, but you'll have the most success if you stick with searching one of the fields. The list of names below will filter and only show you matches.
- On the right column, you will see how many tickets that have been purchased. Click on the row with the customer's name, and it will expand. You will be able to see which tickets have been scanned and which remain unscanned.
- Click the button that says Mark Used to mark a ticket as scanned and utilized. You will see a notification that this was successful. Do this for as many tickets as they want to use in that moment. As a fraud-prevention measure there is currently no way to unmark a ticket as used. Please mark responsibly!
- Click the red X to collapse the ticket information and send you back to the top of the page.
- Check in the next customer by searching via the filter box and repeat the above steps.
Check customers in via the Multipass mobile app (with a QR code or NFC card, or Manually)
Scanning Ticket QR Codes
First, download and install the app on your phone using one of the following two links:
- After you have installed the app on your iOS or Android device, launch the app to log in.
- On the bottom nav touch Scan and then select the current event.
- Using the camera on your device, you can scan a QR from someone's printed ticket, the QR for their ticket in their app, the QR from the mobile website on their phone, the QR from their webpage receipt, or the QR from a linked Multipass card.
- For individual / single tickets, you will get a response. A green check will indicate success. A red X will indicate failure and tell you why the scan failed.
Scanning Physical NFC Cards
You can let customers touch their Multipass cards to your device to process their ticket(s). Make sure to test your reader ahead of time so you know how best to get it to scan a card, as different devices will have you touch different areas (front/back/bottom/etc).
- After you have installed the app on your iOS or Android device, launch the app to log in.
- Select Scan NFC from the bottom nav in the app (touch Scan QR to return to the QR scanning screen.)
- When you scan a physical Multipass card (QR or NFC) it checks to see if any unused tickets are linked to the account and returns a success if there is at least one. It will also indicate how many tickets remain. A failure will indicate whether tickets were once available or not.
Manually Processing Tickets by Name or Email
- After you have installed the app on your iOS or Android device, launch the app to log in.
- You will see a button on the bottom nav for Manual. This lets you search for and manually process people by name, similar to processing tickets via the Multipass Website section above.
- Touch a ticket to mark it as used. As a fraud-prevention measure there is currently no way to unmark a ticket as used. Please mark responsibly!
- If you would like to enter notes on a particular ticket click the Edit Note button. Make sure to Save Note when you're done.
- The manual flow lets you filter attendees by first name, last name, email address, or ticket note. This lets you reduce the list almost immediately to only the matches you care about. Each time you process tickets for someone the filter will be reset.
Enable users other than the event admin to scan tickets in the app
If you want another person on your team to be able to process tickets, you can grant them access.
- To do that, the user should first create a free Multipass account and let you know their account email address.
- Go to your event dashboard and in the Manage section, choose Managers. You can add a new manager on that screen. To limit what they can do, choose No next to Full Control, then check the box next to Can Scan Tickets.
- That user will now be able to process tickets within their own account.

Check customers manually via a printed guest list
This process works well to plan for if you're checking tickets in an area with no internet connection. This is also a good backup plan for all events if you lose internet connectivity.
- On the Multipass.com event dashboard, you can select People With Tickets to export various forms of reports. This includes individual tickets or distinct names.
- Import this exported list into Excel or Google Spreadsheets or just print it out as-is.
- Cross names off as people arrive - either with a pen or within your spreadsheet software. If you have multiple people checking in tickets, we recommend using a networked solution like a Google Spreadsheet or breaking up your list alphabetically and sending customers to the correct list upon entry.
