Multipass automates the oldest hustle in events: people who bring the crowd get a cut, paid daily, no spreadsheets.
How promotion works
Anyone on Multipass, individuals or organizations, can become a promoter. When someone buys through a promoter's link (or an org's page that's promoting your event), the promoter's percentage is withheld from the sale, and Multipass pays all promoters out daily to their own Stripe accounts. You receive everything you're due without ever handling their money.
Referral links "lock in" the promoter for the buyer's session, even if the buyer browses around before purchasing.
Enabling promotion on your event
- In your event admin dashboard, open Promoters.
- Under Settings, turn on Anyone can Promote (or leave it off and invite specific promoters under Invite Promoter).
- Enter the Payout Percentage (whole number, e.g.,
20). - Save.
The Active Promoters list shows everyone promoting your event. The percent column is clickable, click a promoter's number to give them a custom rate.
Becoming a promoter
- As an individual: connect Stripe under My Account → Money/Payouts, then activate under Promoter Settings. You'll get personal referral URLs and QR codes from Find Events to Promote.
- As an organization: connect the org's Stripe (Manage → Stripe Account), then register via the org admin's Promote section. Events you promote also appear on your org's page, marked as affiliate events, buyers who purchase there credit you automatically.
Promoter earnings reports live under Promoter Settings → Reports.
Income Share: splitting event revenue across accounts
Different from promoters: Income Share splits your event's own revenue with co-producers, venues, or partners. It works like promoter payouts, when a purchase is made, the shared portion is withheld, the balance goes straight to your Stripe, and recipients are paid daily.
Details worth knowing:
- Set specific ticket types to Exclude from Income Share if some revenue shouldn't be split.
- Refunds are paid only from the primary Stripe account attached to the event, reconciling with your partners afterward is up to you.
A cautionary note on cancellations
Promoters are paid daily. If you cancel an event and refund tickets after payouts have gone out, that money has already left. Recovering it is between you and your promoters, not something Multipass can unwind.
