Multipass supports three levels of connection between people and your organization — attendance, following, and membership — so you can build recurring community (and recurring revenue) on top of ticketing.
The three levels
- Event attendance — anyone can buy tickets; no relationship required.
- Following — free. Followers get notified about new events and special promotions. You can screen followers with questions and selectively accept.
- Membership — free or paid, recurring or lifetime. The foundation for member pricing, early access, private events, and steady monthly revenue.
Setting up membership levels
In your org admin, go to Membership → Membership Levels and click +. For each level you can set:
- Pricing and billing period: monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual, or lifetime
- Multiple tiers (basic, VIP, discounted-ticket groups…) with distinct pricing
Related tabs:
- Settings — membership behavior for your org
- Application Questions — screen applicants before granting membership
- Promo Codes — discount codes for membership signups
- Import — bring in existing members
Multipass's membership fee is 5% (no flat fee). Membership revenue flows to your Stripe like everything else.
Using membership status in ticketing
This is where it gets powerful. You can:
- Restrict event visibility to followers or members (or hide events from the public entirely)
- Designate ticket types for followers or specific member tiers — tiered pricing and access
- Show member tickets to non-members but block purchase (a membership ad, basically)
- Set an event to be members-only until a date/time, then open to the public (event Settings)
- Create promo codes for particular member types
Members-only and private clubs
Running a private venue or members-only club? A common pattern for legal compliance (e.g., after-hours clubs):
- Set up a membership option, ideally with a small fee — creating an audit trail of an established relationship.
- Limit events to members only.
- Cap per-person ticket counts if your jurisdiction requires it.
- Verify at the door: the Multipass app validates memberships directly, with optional member photo verification. Members can present the app, a printed/digital ticket, or a co-branded NFC membership card.
How members join and manage
Members sign up through your organization page (each org's Membership page has your custom tagline). They manage or cancel from your page or their dashboard under Organization → Manage Memberships. Direct them to Memberships & Following (Member Guide) for their side of the story.
Communicating with your community
Followers, members, and past ticket holders are all reachable with built-in newsletters and SMS — see Marketing: Email, Text & Tracking. Member and customer details can be exported anytime; your audience belongs to you.
