Discounts, freebies, and VIP lists all live under your event's Marketing and Tickets sections.
Promo codes
Go to Marketing → Promo Codes. There are two flavors:
- Multiple Use — one code, many redemptions (e.g.,
SUMMER10for your newsletter). - Single Use — unique codes generated individually or in batches, each redeemable once. Perfect for contest winners, street teams, or interest-list invitations.
Click Add Promo Code to create one. Codes can:
- Apply a discount to eligible ticket types (types must have "Discounts can be applied" enabled)
- Unlock hidden ticket types — the classic move for presales, volunteer tickets, or secret tiers
- Carry usage limits (count) and time restrictions
- Enforce a minimum quantity, enabling volume discounts ("buy 4+, save 20%")
Distributing codes
From the Promo Codes tabs you can:
- Send Email or Send Text with codes directly from Multipass
- Use QR Links — we generate links (and QR codes) with the promo auto-applied, so the buyer never types anything
- Export CSV to use codes in your own tools
The Active column shows each code's status and how many times it's been used.
Comp (complimentary) tickets
Go to Tickets → Issue Comps to give tickets away without a charge. You can issue comps:
- Directly to an email address, or
- As claim codes/links the recipient redeems themselves
Comps show up in your reports like any other ticket, so your headcount stays accurate.
Guest list
Tickets → Guest List keeps a simple named list alongside regular ticketing — handy for artists, staff, press, and plus-ones that don't need a full ticket flow. Add entries with the + button, and cross-check names at the door alongside your ticket check-in.
Tip: reminder emails for unused invitation codes
If you distribute promo codes to your interest list, you can have Multipass automatically send reminder emails when codes haven't been redeemed — turn this on in Settings → Email Settings ("Send reminder emails if distributed interest list promo codes have not been used yet").
How buyers see it
By default your event page shows an "Enter a promo code" prompt. You can restyle or hide it under Settings → Ticket Settings → Promo Code Link Style (subtle text link, button, or hidden entirely — codes still work via auto-applied links even when hidden).
